SCAD University produced two of Flannery Connor’s short stories Greenleaf, and Everything That Rises Must Converge into stage productions. The excellent performance of the actors, and the staff involved in the production entertained a captive audience.  Both plays, because of their unusual staging of the protagonists and the surrounding actors, engaged the theater goers immediately. The entire text of the short stories was read aloud on the stage putting one in mind of a Greek production. Antigone comes to mind. While in Greek productions the chorus stays beneath the stage and narrates, these actors moved freely around the stage jumping in at different times relating the action and thoughts of the protagonists.
